During the cold, dark days over the Christmas season, Valkenburg will be offering a number of special events. Below, you will find a list of the various activities that you can expect during the Christmas period in Valkenburg aan de Geul:
Christmas Parade
This magnificent collection of floats, dancers and animators will parade through the centre of Valkenburg every Wednesday evening and every Saturday evening.
Route d’Amuse
A marvellous walk through the beautiful Geul town of Valkenburg, during which you can enjoy a number of delicious amuses at 5 renowned catering establishments. Starting November 16th 2012 until January 6th 2013. The 3 routes are available at the Tourist Information Office of Zuid- Limburg, the Readshop at the Dr. Erensstraat and at the participating establishments.
Christmas market Municipal Cave
The oldest subterranean Christmas Market in Europe with a rich history. This will take place from November 16th 2012 until December 23th 2012.
Christmas market Velvet Cave
Visit the attractive and cosy Christmas Market in the Velvet Cave between November 16th 2012 and December 23th 2012. This year, Santa Claus has taken up residence in the Velvet Cave.
Nativity Scene in the Wilhelmina Cave
Experience Europe's most astonishing Underground Nativity Scene and Sand Sculpture Exhibit within the spectacular Wilhelmina Caves in Valkenburg. Discover the world of magic displaying the Christmas story in the caverns of the Wilhelmina Caves.
